The year is 2342. Jimmy “Comet” Carlson adjusted his helmet, the comm crackling with static. “Base Camp, this is Scout Two, approaching designated coordinates.”

“Ten-four, Scout Two. Read you loud and clear. Proceed with caution. Xylar life readings are… unusual.”

Jimmy gulped, his stomach doing a flip-flop. Xylar. A desolate moon, rumored to hold riches beyond imagination, but also whispered to be haunted by spectral space-cats. Ridiculous, of course, but his heart still pounded like a drum solo.

He landed his astro-scout one-seater near a towering, metallic mesa, its shadow stretching long in the alien sunset. A giant orange sun hung low, casting eerie light. Following his trusty Space Scout Handbook, Jimmy set about collecting mineral samples.

Suddenly, a rustling. Out of the shadows stalked… it. A massive feline, white as snow, with eyes like twin suns. It wore a miniature space suit, complete with a tiny oxygen tank and a scout badge! Jimmy’s ray-pistol trembled.

“Greetings, Scout,” the cat purred, its voice surprisingly deep. “Welcome to Xylar. Care for some Tang?”

Jimmy stared, speechless. This was going to be one merit badge he’d never forget.
